End of March 20121 and we returned to Fowlmere for our Thursday excursion. Different from our last visit, the trees & shrubs are budding, with many, like the willow and hawthorn actually getting close to full bloom. And, unlike our last visit the birds were there aplenty. Actually saw a pair of red wing kites, goldfinches, chaffinches, great tits, robins, geese, mallards, a whole cacophony of different species. And bird song everywhere. So whilst it is not that long a walk (about 1.5 miles), even with the hides all closed there is still lots to enjoy and just get the psyche back in balance.
